- Government plans are available to (1) qualified government entities, including US federal, state, local, tribal, and territorial government entities; and (2) other entities (subject to validation of eligibility) who handle data subject to government regulations and requirements, where use of Microsoft 365 Government is appropriate to meet these regulations and requirements. Each plan is offered as a monthly subscription and can be licensed to an unlimited number of users. Begin sign-up for the free trial by submitting the eligibility intake form required for the validation process.
A government organization is typically (a) any government agency, department office, division, unit, or other entity of state or local government; or (b) any county, borough, commonwealth, city, municipality, town, township, special purpose district, or similar type of government instrumentality established by laws of the customer’s state and located in the customer’s state jurisdiction and geographic boundaries; or (c) any other entity in the customer’s state expressly authorized by the laws of the customer’s state to purchase under state contracts. - Microsoft reserves the right to verify eligibility at any time and suspend the service for ineligible customers.

Microsoft 365 Copilot is not currently available for non-US government clouds.
